Understanding configuration is a fairly new but very important investigation in the fields of Choice and Artificial Intelligence.

Explaining and modeling human configuration processes is a theory in its infancy, and F&S is at the cutting edge. We use configuration tasks to:

• help identify the most important attributes from a long list
• identify 2 and 3 way interactions between attribute levels
• address the ‘menu’ or ‘bundling’ problem in traditional MNL models
